Restoration
Restoration is an art and technology at the same time. Each work of art, aesthetics, and historical records by a person are created in particular time. Restoration opens the windows of the past history and civilization to humanity today. In this report, a close-up of technical steps to restore exquisite works and manuscripts, is provided before the audience's eyes.
Any object or work of art, aesthetics and historical records are created by a person at a particular time and that person has included an artistic vision of his soul into it. With this in mind, we should see how much we are allowed to manipulate this work.
Manipulation in the restoration work should be minimized and if no danger is threatening its preservation, it is better not to do any restoration, but if restoration is needed, first technology and pathology studies must be carried out to know what stage of risk is the work at. Then the danger must be repudiated and further damage must be stopped, and then the visual and aesthetic aspects of the work should be considered.
If an item does not have much harm, first the photography and scanning are performed on it and then, it is sent to laboratory and restoration units and ultimately to binding; otherwise, the photography and scanning are performed at the end of the work of restoration and binding.
Manuscripts are considered as a part of the cultural heritage of a given community and these books are the documents that form the cultural identity, history, literature and ethnicity of a nation.
